Tesoro On The Web: Juan Of Words

Juanofwords  A quién le amarga un dulce?
… A nadie…that is why I continue to search and discover new "Tesoros On The Web" for you as often as I possibly can. This week's pick is really unique… Juan Alanis aka Juan of Words has a blog that I really enjoy (yes, the RSS feed is on my blackberry). I also follow him on twitter

Juan explores and writes creative commentary about some of the "dichos and refranes" or sayings that we have in our Latino culture. He is a very good writer so I will let you read more about what he does…in his own words. I enjoy his work…and hope you will too.

Compelling stories, random thoughts and hopefully entertaining prose are what this blog offers you, the reader.  Writing has been my passion for many years – probably as long as I can remember – although it took me quite a long time to come around to the idea of writing creatively.  Not for lack of passion, but because of self-doubt and quite honestly just using lack of time as an excuse.

I’ve written professionally for news publications including the Houston Chronicle, the San Antonio Express News, Texas Travel Guide, La Prensa Grafica of El Salvador, Rumbo Newspapers, and organizations like the Association for the Advancement of Mexican Americans, the City of Houston, Univision News Network, The Salvation Army, Reliv, etc.

I currently reside in Houston with my wife and son, as well as a very large extended family.  Let’s see where this adventure takes us!

Buen Provecho…
