BONUS —> At the bottom of this post I share a great resource for new start-ups in NYC… make sure you check out this free program and stay tuned to the blog as I will be sharing my experience taking the course myself and reinventing my brand.

Ok… back to my post.

Last June, some of you will remember – I made a conscious decision not to seek 9-9 employment after leaving T-Mobile USA after ten wonderful years. It was decided that I would build on the success of the work I have done simultaneously in my tenure working in Telecom. In a nutshell, I was tired of having a split personality (working two-full time jobs), hopeful that dedicating all my efforts to my personal goals would provide way beyond what any company can offer me compensation wise and create the kind of life I have always felt I needed to live. That life includes lots of travel, an increase of relationships that build me professionally and the time to explore things once very limited to me due to my hectic corporate work schedule.

Best of all, my intention is to share my experience with others thru a series of blogs, podcasts and live events.

So I set goals… BIG GOALS!

One of those goals was to plant seeds where I wanted to grow… and that is Brooklyn, NYC.

So today begins a new chapter, for me… and my company as I decided to move out of my home and into a special creative space for my day to day work grind. After careful consideration (and generous invites) from many co-working / incubator spaces all over NYC, I have decided to make The Yard NYC’s Williamsburg location the place we would start the evolution of my brand and the portfolio of services we have to offer.

I took lots of things into consideration but here are the big WINS for me.

The Yard NYC is located on 33 Nassau Ave in North Williamsburg. I am driving from Long Island so parking was a big differentiator. I have access to free street parking within two blocks of the office. I also have subway access nearby should I ever need to jump into NYC for a client meet or an event. This is a major plus for me.

One of the best laid out spaces I have visited with options that I can really use. High speed Internet, beautifully stocked kitchen with complimentary coffee and tea, access to b/w and color printing, conference rooms that can be reserved for meetings and this very helpful gentleman named Miguel that keeps the space clean.

Some things come down to the money… and budget is always a careful consideration. I thought that the Yard NYC really keeps their brand promise of being a place where your business can grow.  They have multiple locations in NYC and Brooklyn. As per their website, “Their spaces focus on design + function so every element of our environment promotes your creativity, collaboration, and connections. If your business is evolving, it’s time to work at The Yard.”

So what’s next?

we will be taking a few days to shape how we will use this space to engage our clients and partners to do what we do best… make your projects visible on social. We anticipate hosting bi-monthly mastermind groups designed to help small business owners get social with their brands… stay tuned as that information will be coming soon.
