Today Is Latino Social Media Day —> & I Am Going To Tell You A Secret…

180-pix-wide-Badge-for-LatinoSMdaySo first off… I want to say that today is a very exciting day for me. For a two reasons…

First off, today has been proclaimed Latino Social Media Day by the Hispanic Public Relations Association (HPRA) and I am part of an amazing panel via Google + Hangout. Thank you Stephen Chavez & HPRA for including me in such a great initiative to shed more light on the Latino impact in new media.

Want to see me speak? The details are below…

The panel  – “Innovate! Engage! How Latinos are revolutionizing Digital Communities” on June 25 at 11 a.m. (Pacific) with top-level social media influencers, including Paula Duran, field marketing manager, Red Bull; George Torres, publisher and online community organizer, Sofrito for Your Soul; and Robert Hernandez, professor, USC Annenberg School of Journalism. During the session, panelists will discuss how Latinos are contributing to the world of business and grassroots initiatives, as well hear about new technologies journalists are using to tell their news stories. Here is the secret I have been holding on to….

Inspired by the recent announcements of Angie MartinezLeBron James  and a personal exploration of my Passion Pursuit –> is that after 10 years of working for T-Mobile USA in management, I have decided to dedicate myself full time to working in the realm of social media, health, tech and innovation.

For over 18 years, I have managed to juggle a day job while pursuing  my passion to develop sustainable community initiatives in the Latino community and today I am excited to be able to devote 100% of my passion to the community I serve… YOU…

yes… I will be a full time Urban Jibaro!

“Oye Jibaro, I heard some rumors about you starting something new in NYC?”

Yes… there is a lot of truth to that…

In September, as the newly appointed Director – I will be launching the Latino Start Up Alliance initiative in NYC. The goal of our NYC – LSA Project is to to encourage the inspiration and cultivation of U.S. Latino led technology startup ventures by providing a strong support network of fellow entrepreneurs, investors, innovators, & mentors. This partnership was a direct result of talks at Hispanicize 2014, to expand LSA into key markets in the US including Miami and NYC.

In the same spirit that Latino Social Media Day was conceived – I am looking forward to applying my years of executive experience in creating and promoting initiatives that Inspire and Engage our communities for Social Good…

In the interim, I will be expanding our current portfolio of projects and taking meetings… want to connect? Email me today!
