Sunday Sofrito: Preparing For Pa’l Pueblo

Familia…

How are you? Me… aqui tranquilito getting ready for my favorite time of the year. It is when you and I come together for a special cause… delivering Christmas to a very special group of kids I know in Brooklyn. We call this Pa’l Pueblo and this will be our 6th year making these kids dreams come true.

The Pa’l Pueblo charity movement is just like the mythical North Pole, except we do not make gifts (at least not yet)… instead, we raise money, buy, wrap and deliver the gifts for the children at an in school celebration in which the kids give back by way of song and dance, singing multicultural Christmas carols. That is what makes this initiative so important to us at Capicu Cultural Showcase & Sofrito Media Group.

With the recession, funding this event gets harder each year but we refuse to give up… we are here partnering with YOU, our community that understands why we do what we do.

So instead of telling you what I need, I instead will ask you what you can do to help us put a smile on a kids face this Christmas. Please email us at SofritoSubmissions@gmail.com

We would like to thank our friends at the leading Latino parenting blogs PapiBlogger and Mamá Contemporánea are issuing a national call for gift ideas for their third annual 2012 Holiday Gift Guide, the largest and best known Holiday gift guide by Latino bloggers. Best of all… they will help us collect donations via this initiative.

Look forward to hearing from you.
