IMG00370 Yessss…I am back!

Y si te interesaba, I had a great vacation, I had the honor of being best man to my brother Luis Raul Ortiz as he wed his sweetheart Shaina on April 11th in St. Cloud Florida…Felicidades to them as they embark on a new life and start their family. I had an amazing time seeing all of my family..and especially sampling the culinary talents of both my mom and grandmother (se me jodio la dieta).

Pero vamos al grano…here is what the Urban Jibaro is up to…

As I write this I must make you aware that I was out all night partying with some friends at Iguanas in NYC, good times, great food and priceless memories…special thanks to Rob & Dana (for the Moet and the great company) as well as mi hermana Alexandra aka Solida and her Fiance Dorian for showing up and making my night…it had simply been too long….

Happy Birthday to Nathalie…and thank you for sharing your birthday with me…

Here it is…

  • We had our Taino Brunch last week in Brooklyn…it was an amazing day, The recap is coming!

  • I just discovered Pandora internet radio and ditched Imeem…I love the flexibility and the fact I can get it on my Blackberry.  The Salsa selection is amazing….

  • Still planning the Latino Hooky Jam in El Barrio on 5/15….come join us for a cultural despojo!

  • Sofrito For Your Soul is gonna be adding all kinds of new stuff including new people to help me bring you the best of nuestra cultura…stay tuned for those announcements…(that news is too big for the Sunday Sofrito post)

  • Finally…I have good news and bad news. The bad news first, after two years and over 150 events, CEMI UNDERGROUND has closed its doors. The good news is that our friend Luis Cordero and his Cemi Family so luchadores, so you will continue to see their presence in El Barrio beginning on May 28th at Julia De Burgos…Click here for more info

I know this Sunday Sofrito is a lil skimpy…pero I promise you next Sunday te voy a dar un monton mas…

As I am,
George Torres
