“Before you are a leader, success is all about growing yourself. when you become a Leader, success is all about growing others.” – Jack Welch.
In April, I shared a story about someone who cared enough to tell me when I was not living up to my brand promise. It was thru that conversation that I was able to build a relationship with Mariela Dabbah from Latinos In College. Indirectly... she took the role of mentoring me in that situation in which I needed guidance. Since then... we have had some invigorating conversations about impacting the educational landscape for Latinos in America.
Earlier today, we announced on twitter that we will be collaborating on a webinar to help students and young professionals tap into the power of mentorship. This webinar is free and sponsored by Latinos In College in association with Sofrito Media Group. Now this is a hot topic and space is limited... so do yourself a favor... register today and help us spread the word to some young people that can benefit from this webinar.
Here are all the details...
|
Cost - $0 - Gratis - Nada... yes... we said F.R.E.E but you do have to register to attend.
We will be discussing the following topics:
•Differences between mentors and sponsors
•Identifying mentors who are a good match for your needs
•Best ways to find and approach mentors and sponsors
•Managing these valuable relationships and much more.

The Urban Jibaro
=====================================================
I started writing this blog when there were only 2 or 3 websites for Latinos on the whole entire internet. I was able to do so because of readers like you that cared and supported me. Today there are thousands of entities (books, blogs, websites) that cultivate stories of cultural interest to Latinos... but to this day, the Afro Latino experience has been significantly underdocumented.
Recently my colleague and friend, Alicia Anabel Santos embraced this challenge and is wrapping up her Afro Latino project and has just finished her memoir telling her story.
She has embarked on a campaign via Kickstarter to help fund the process of taking this projectr to print.
You can click on the campaign video below and click on the link so that you can read and witness Alicias passion first hand. But before you do, understand that this project will not be funded unless Alicia gets a minimum of $2,000 pledged to the project. she has about 60 hours to go and needs $958.
I have over 10k readers... if only 10% of you donated a dollar we would have invested in this amazing project making it a reality. Please help make this memoir a reality. Anyone who donates at least $25 dollars will get a free banner ad for 3 months on http://www.sofritoforyoursoul.com as long as it meets our ad guidlines and the project gets funded.
I am committed to helping Alicia reach her goal!
Here is the link to donate... FINDING YOUR FORCE on kickstarter
As I am,
Urban Jibaro...
~ONLY 63 HOURS REMAIN. Your donation is very appreciated, $1, $5, $10 no amount is too small. Please help spread the word. To help publish my memoir please visit: FINDING YOUR FORCE on kickstarter
Thank you for your support.
Peace, light and LOVE~
