Oh No! The Chancleta Industry Adopts The Redbox Strategy

Summer is here, and the Flip Flop (Chancleta) industry is big business this time of year.

One of the most fashionable chancletas on the market Havaianas decided to go all Redbox on their distribution strategy and make vending machines available in Malls to sell their line of Flip Flops. As seen in the picture below… you can now purchase a wide range of styles and sizes…and even use the convienantly placed size chart to make sure you are getting the right size.

For mainstream America, this is a great way to increase marketshare for a industry leader getting their product in front of people and increasing brand awareness. For Latino, and children specifically it can be a little unsettling knowing that Mami and Abuela have such easy access to the infamous Chancleta… I know that I would have personally hated to see this.
