My Video Content Strategy Is Falling Into Place…

iBlog-March-Cover-flatRemember when I told you I wanted to do more video after reading  last month’s iBlog Magazine?

Well I am all in… all the pieces are falling in place. I started by taking acting classes with actor Victor Cruz, then I landed a staged reading of “Bad Uncle” (written by Rob Torres)… and now I am gearing up for my first role in a movie (more on that soon). The point I am making is that I made a decision to do more video and it is happening.

For those of you who just want to see the outcome… aka the video… I will save you a scroll…you can see it right here. (((share if you like it)))

Loisaida Festival

For those of you interested in the HOW…. before we get started I just want to let you know… this blog is not really sponsored but I do include items I received from brands to tell my story.

Disclaimer: Sprint Latino provided me with a device to review and Marriott Hotels gave me a Go Pro as promotional gift for an activation they ran in NYC. Everybody else I mention is just because they are really cool apps or services I wish to share with my readers. All opinions are my own.

How will this impact my content on SofritoForYourSoul.com?

I needed gear… and this is how the pieces started to fall in place. First I was able to switch to a Samsung Note Edge (courtesy of SprintLatino). The phone helps me with its big screen, perfect for editing on different platforms like FLY and Magisto and has enough memory to handle big files. The big PLUS with this phone (totally unrelated to this convo) is helps me with my health with their very popular S Health app. I am able to track my heartbeat, my oxygen levels, my glucose levels as well as track my eating habits and weight.

Then Marriott did a #AppYourService promo in NYC to promote their new Concierge app “Mobile Request”. I tweeted them requesting a lend me GoPro camera so that I can travel NYC as a tourist and document my experiences.

Before you know it, two “Red Coats” came in and suprised me at the East Harlem Cafe where I was taking meetings for the day and gave me a brand new GoPro Hero. This will help me specifically with my dash cam interviews and test drive recaps.

Then I started Periscoping from my iPad –> and even created this cool new hack to help you amplify your scopes on Facebook and created my #SofritoScope series. Then two weeks ago I discovered Tastemade (thanks to @DaniellaVeras) and I am really excited. I have done two episodes… one for Bacardi and now a second one for the Loisaida Festival. As I am writing this I just saw that I had 109 views in just 4 hours. I think that you will be seeing much more video content moving forward.

What is Tastemade?

As per their website;

IT’S A FOOD AND TRAVEL VIDEO NETWORK FOR THE MOBILE GENERATION

Tastemade is a video network built for the mobile generation. We enable Tastemakers to come together to discover and share their passion for great food and travel. We bring this to life on every screen from smartphones to connected TVs for a global community that reaches over 25 million people monthly.

This is so appropriate as I am traveling more… and looking to blog about my experiences a lot more than I have in the past. I think I am finding my own voice in this new medium… I even went on Amazon and picked up all kinds of accessories like tri-pods and car mounts. This is going to be interesting.

I am getting my Passport in a few short weeks and I am ready for International Travel for the first time as an adult and I will be sharing all my experiences with you.

Special thanks to the Loisaida Arts Center and #TeamCapicu for making this all possible.
