Latino Trailblazers: Daisy Martinez

Happy Hispanic Heritage Month! Celebrate the importance of Latino culture with Being Latino, Best Buy and our partners.

We’re paying tribute to the generations of Hispanic Americans who have positively influenced and enriched our nation and society. A new tribute airs each weekday from September 17 – October 12

Today’s Trailblazer is Daisy Martinez, a Brooklyn born Boricua chef, television personality and author. She has hosted TV shows on Public Broadcasting Service and TheFood Network  highlighting one of her most prized possessions, our Latino culinary heritage, a legacy passed down from her mother and Grandmother.

As an author, She has published several books, including Daisy: Morning, Noon and Night: Bringing Your Family Together with Everyday Latin Dishes and Daisy Cooks: Latin Flavors That Will Rock Your World, which won “Best Latino Cuisine Cookbook in the World” at the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards.

She is active an voice within the Latino community with many philanthropic endeavors, including The Committee for Hispanic Children and Families and making appearances at numerous career days at schools all over New York City.
