      • Frankie Lane Who would you pick to play Tony?

      • Kerry McCann I pick Casper Martinez for the role 🙂

about an hour ago ·  ·   1 person
      • Erol Douglas Who ever it is, make sure he's of Cuban decent, the Mexican community got upset when J. Lo, a Puerto Rican, played "Selena".

about an hour ago ·  ·   2 people
      • Nina La Nena Hernandez Esai Morales. 😉

      • Lester Rivera A REAL Latino would be TOO Latino to play a Latino that would be believable to the American masses. Follow me? Lol

about an hour ago ·  ·   1 person
      • Erol Douglas Is Esai Cuban?

      • Lulu Nova wow..those will be big shoes to fill!! remakes are usually a disaster!!

about an hour ago ·  ·   3 people
      • Jay El Payaso Watkins That wasn't J.Lo's first mexican role either lol all I know whoever plays Scarface must be a def better choice of actor than Soulja Boi playing Bishop in the Juice remake. The guy who played Alcerez on Oz could be the perfect Scarface

      • Nina La Nena Hernandez ‎@ Erol… PR

      • Nina La Nena Hernandez Close enough

      • Nina La Nena Hernandez lol

      • Lester Rivera Erol, that's cause Jlo's ass was the closest to Selenas ass! Lol

      • Erol Douglas ‎@ Les, true true lol

      • Papo 'Swiggity' Santiago Esai Morales is Puerto Rican but I think he can pull off Tony Montana

about an hour ago ·  ·   2 people
      • Luis Maldonado Esai Morales , would be a good Pick

      • Theresa Ramos Does it matter as long as a GOOD actor plays the role? If it happens to be a Latino cool if not ok. As if a glorified drug lord is a character to fight over? lol al pacino's shoes will be hard to fill regardless.

about an hour ago ·  ·   3 people
      • Nina La Nena Hernandez I think he's perfect

      • Nina La Nena Hernandez BUT….I agree with Lulu's statement

      • Erika Figueroa I agree AL did an excellent job at the time but come on!

      • Erol Douglas I got it, it's time for him to act, plus he's of Cuban Decent, I say get "Pitbull".

about an hour ago ·  ·   1 person
      • Theresa Ramos And if I were Mexican I'd be more pissed over La Bamba. Damn now I want chipotles for lunch :/

      • Nina La Nena Hernandez WE need to be more out in the scene & represented more & the only way by doing so is by attaining roles. So I believe a Latino should be played by a LATINO. NO BLACK FACE here. Comon now….

      • Lester Rivera It's not like Cubans are proud of the Scarface character in the first place

about an hour ago ·  ·   1 person
      • Papo 'Swiggity' Santiago Pitbull, interesting….

      • Nina La Nena Hernandez NAH!

      • Nina La Nena Hernandez lol I can't see that lmfprao

      • Papo 'Swiggity' Santiago Lester- I went to Miami and there were definitely Cubans with Scarface posters up on their walls!

      • Karla Samantha I like Esai for the role, too. I don't think the actor needs to be Cuban- an actor is an actor in my eyes. JLo did and awesome job as Selena IMO 🙂 I'm Puerto Rican but if a Cuban/Dominican/Mexican etc could play the role of a Puerto Rican well, hell why not? Lol

about an hour ago ·  ·   2 people
      • Luis Maldonado its usually a hood idiot that doesn't no better that has that poster somewher ein his living room.

      • Stephen Cye Caranante Are they making the character latino? Is it gonna be Tony Montana? The original 1932 Scarface was Italian "Tony Camonte"

about an hour ago ·  ·   3 people
      • Nina La Nena Hernandez I say as long as he's LATINO!

      • Frankie Lane Adam Rodriguez O_O

about an hour ago ·  ·   2 people
      • Lester Rivera Honestly why do we want a Latino to play that type of role which typecasts us as money hungry drug dealers??? I'd prefer a Latino to star in non traditional roles that show range and acting ability!

        59 minutes ago ·  ·   2 people
      • Erika Figueroa I think Swiggity is touching on somethign deeper in this comment. More like the fact that Latino's are given a small margin in to hollywood and when they do have movies that call for Latino actors they lump us all in to one category. And usually not in positive roles. I would like to see one day where there are quality roles given to quality actors and race or ethnicity are not the center of the movie. When was the last time a latino or an African American was given an opportunity to play a major role and his/her race had nothing to do with it? Yet we continue to see block buster movies with leading actirs & actresses whom are Anglo and thier race had nothing to do with the focus of the role.

        59 minutes ago ·  ·   3 people
      • Theresa Ramos Mmmm Adam Rodriguez -splash-

        59 minutes ago ·  ·   2 people
      • Nina La Nena Hernandez I agree, but a role is a role, use it as a stepping stone…

      • Luis Maldonado I think Benecio can get it off..

        58 minutes ago ·  ·   1 person
      • Marlyn Galicia George Lopez all the way!!!!! Lol

      • Papo 'Swiggity' Santiago ‎'Tony Montana' is of course not a progressive character. But it does represent a real story for a segment of society that only had one shot at being represented in the mainstream. Last time around, hey pacino did a great job as the character character BUT- as a Latino- I knew he wasn't one of ours. The Spanish parts were definitely a disconnect. What I'm saying is that in this day and age, with a full range of diverse Latino characters in all areas of entertainment, we deserve someone who represents the character in a more way. It would be good for us in the mainstream, as many of us as there are, we are still underrepresented

      • Papo 'Swiggity' Santiago Erika- u got it!

      • Nina La Nena Hernandez I like Adam Rodriguez also!

      • Luis Maldonado I feel you papo.. however if you look at that movie now that shit was cheesy as hell.

      • Myster Adams Good luck with that one. This is hollywood we talking about here.

        56 minutes ago ·  ·   1 person
      • Frankie Lane Can Lindsay Lohan play Elvira? Actually, Michelle Pfeiffer could still do it because she hasn't aged lol

      • Nina La Nena Hernandez CHEESY! NEVA!! lol

      • Erika Figueroa Nina do you mean they should take the roles even if they portray us in a negative way?

      • Lester Rivera U hit it Erika. We need to stop settling for the scrap roles.

        56 minutes ago ·  ·   1 person
      • Papo 'Swiggity' Santiago We need Lead roles in Hollywood, which is my main point

        52 minutes ago ·  ·   2 people
      • Theresa Ramos Juan keep reachin homie, Hollywood (aka land of the weinsteins & goldsteins) is still ran by blancitos and they will always decide who to put on the forefront. Sad but true.

        52 minutes ago ·  ·   2 people
      • Lester Rivera Even great Latino/a actors wouldn't get the role because it wouldn't draw mainstream America in. Every trailer park redneck knows Al Pacino, for example. How many know Benicio del Toro?

      • Erika Figueroa Thanks Lester. I have a friend who's African American who is in the business and she has a ahrd time deciding if she would do that just to get ahead. There is director in the African AMerican arena that is ironing out movies about being Black in AMerica but short chanigng rest of America by not giving the roles more substance and more depth. In the end result making his people look like bafoons. Yet if you ar ein one of his movies you will get known ASAP. She is still left deciding. And the same is done to us.

      • Nina La Nena Hernandez It depends… I do agree like I stated before, but most of us came from or can relate to similar stories. So if you can take that role to use to your advantage, by getting your talent noticed to then utilize that recognition, to enlighten other races of what more our culture & race has to offer….by all means GO FOR IT! I'm not saying, sell your soul to the devil now. 😉

      • Richard Santiago Jr. That's a remake they should not do……I wont be peeping it. It'll just ruin the original for me.

        50 minutes ago ·  ·   2 people
      • Bobby Gonzalez The original "Scarface" (1932) was Paul Muni, who was Jewish. Do we need another film with a negative Latino role model? Why not a film about Cesar Chavez, Bishop Romero or Dolores Huerta?

        45 minutes ago ·  ·   4 people
      • Pito Calderon THEY SHOULD TAKE AN UNKNOWN AND LET HIM SHINE…..SHIT I'll TAKE IT.

      • Erika Figueroa And we already know Hollywood will not or usually does nto support LAtino films with positive people. Salma Hayeck had to foto the bill for Freda.

      • Erika Figueroa There was a movie that recently came out that Esai was in called Gun Hill Road again an independent film (dayum Irene messed up my chances of seeing it) again Hollywood would not support it

        39 minutes ago ·  ·   1 person
      • Papo 'Swiggity' Santiago The Scarface franchise- the one Pacino played- is a legacy. It's a sureshot in the eyes of Hollywood. If Universal goes through with it, then I just want to see that Latinos are playing latinos because this has the potential to be a Blockbuster in the mainstream.

The person that gets the lead role here, if Latino, may go on to open doors that weren't open to us before to do bigger movies or get into positions of power where we fully control the content. As has been pointed out here, unfortunately at this time this aint the case for Blockbusters. Without that scale of financial backing and push- Progressive Latino films are treated as a subgenre- sadly.

      • Mark Anthony Vigo I wonder if ALL the independent film production companies joined forces to form a whole new entity, an "Independy-wood" so to speak, I think that would change the game completely. Or is that just wishful thinking on my part?

        25 minutes ago ·  ·   2 people
      • Deborah Magdalena I think this one should not be touched …

      • Charles Freels Who would you cast that would be a big enough draw at the box office?

      • Casper Martinez I understand why they would want to remake this property. It's like Papo 'Swiggity' Santiago says this project became a cult classic, It was not a Box office hit. The "hood" kept this movie alive once Hip-Hop embraced it. It would be ideal to get a Latino to play a Latino but you know Hollywood they'll probably give it to Gerard Butler just cause he has dark hair and in Hollywood that is good enough for them.

        17 minutes ago ·  ·   2 people
      • Erika Figueroa They would wan to make him more sexxy to sell to the ladies but nacho enough that the men can support? hhhmmm who would that be right now? a Latino i mean who? @ Mark that would be too much b/c unfortunately I think the ego's may get in the way of the creativity

        14 minutes ago ·  ·   1 person
      • Erika Figueroa ooops I meant Macho, not Nacho

      • Omar Cruz My picks: Esai Morales, Benicio Del Toro, Olivier Martinez, Javier Bardem, Gael Garcia Bernal, Diego Luna, Clifton Collins Jr. (yes he is Hispanic of Mexican and Spaniard ancestry), and Manny Perez..

        11 minutes ago ·  ·   1 person
      • Joe Vega That movie really isn't good, there are so many other gangster films that are better. Hip Hop culture has elevated it to a level of fame and iconic status that it really doesn't deserve, imho

        11 minutes ago ·  ·   2 people
      • Felix Jimenez ‎1000% & not Andy Garcia….Lol

      • Casper Martinez I could totally see Benicio, Esai, Manny Perez, I do love Clifton Collins Jr. Body of work. Luis Antonio Ramos and Javier
