Daily Dose Of Sofrito: Verses/Poetry by Majestic Originality

Last night at Capicu…one of our original supporters announced that his first book Verses/Poetry, Inside the mind of an Emcee/Poet went on sale. Join me in congratulating Jason Hernandez aka Majestic Originality in his new endeavor. The best way to do so would be to purchase the book :).

A Portion of ALL Online sales will be donated towards the Fight against MS & the Fight Against HIV/AIDS….which I think makes this even that more important.

the creative process goes hand in hand with the process to find our
personal identity. This book is a guided tour through the many life
experiences that helped Jason / Majestik find himself." – Justin "The
Omnitect" Muñoz

About the author:
Majestik began writing poetry at the age
of twelve and lyrics at fifteen. He began performing in 2001 with his
first stage appearance taking place at Blackbetty's in Brooklyn. He
oftentimes performed with Jendog and Baz-iLL of the 5 Foot Mafia, along
with DJ Black Pearl. Majestik attributes the start of his performing
career to them as well as his cousin AK.

In 2003, Majestik joined a group of emcees and poets known as 21
Poetz where he met Chilo and Advocate of Wordz, who are also members of
the well-known poetry collective El Grito de Poetas. Majestik went on
to join Grito in 2005 and is currently still a member.

Compared musically to Big Pun, Majestik Originality definitely
boasts a 90s hip-hop sound of which he is proud. Although his first
recording was a mixtape in 2002, he produced, engineered and mastered
his first album, entitled Timeline, in 2005. Since then he has released
two more mixtapes. Majestik is currently at work on a new (as of yet
untitled) album which is expected to be released late 2009. With plenty
more to come.
