Craving Latino cuisine and tired of the same old options? When I get hungry in Brooklyn I swing right past the Barclay’s Center and down 5th Ave in Park Slope and hit one of these spots. They are all very tasty options but I thought I would give you a little breakdown to help you make the decision.
Disclaimer: this is my favorite restaurant in NYC and my social timeline is proof. Whether it’s friends family or business… This place never disappoints. For the record, I sorted these options in alphabetical order. This is not a paid placement.
Bogota Latin Bistro is an award winning Colombian/Latin American restaurant located in New York City (in the northern part of Park Slope and just south of Downtown Brooklyn – 6 short blocks from the Barclays Center) serving the foods and beverages of Colombia and Latin America. We are dedicated to elevating the status and awareness of Latin food, particularly Colombian cuisine, and culture via our food, drinks, our music, our service and hospitality.
I still have not been here, but the reviews have been nothing short of spectacular, which is to be expected.
Miti Miti is short for “Mitad y Mitad” which in Spanish means “sharing.” The Miti Miti experience is meant to evoke not just sharing of food, but sharing of good times, laughter, joy, friendship, great conversation, and memories. Miti Miti’s menu focuses on Mediterranean cuisine with inspirations from several European cultures in addition to foods found around the world. Hints of Greece, Italy and Spain are intermingled with Latin American and Middle Eastern influences and are all designed to encourage you to try many difference flavors amidst our flavorful and handcrafted conversation, and memories. This place not only has phenomenal food but if you check their calendar, both locations actually host some cool open mic and comedy events with some of the best comedic talent in NYC.
V-SPOT’s story is unusual, if not unique. A Brooklyn start-up that came into existence to fill the vegan void in Park Slope’s restaurant community, V-SPOT quickly built a loyal following by offering locally sourced Latin-vegan cuisine that refused to sacrifice flavor. Nine years later, V-SPOT is now following the reverse path of most restaurants, maintaining its Brooklyn flagship while expanding into Manhattan’s Lower East Side with a new ORGANIC restaurant.
