The way this young lady's life started is so common in certain communities. How she survived it all is a story that is becoming more common thanks to organizations like National Womens Law Center. The site has very informative information about young Latinas and education. I applaud this organization for attacking this problem at the root. Our new report, Listening to Latinas: Barriers to High School Graduation, explores the causes of the dropout crisis for Latinas and identifies the actions needed to improve their graduation rates and get them ready for college.
