Mi gente...
Just wanted to check in and say hi, it is a very lazy Sunday and I am sitting in front of the computer planning out this week. As many of you know, we will be celebrating the second anniversary of the
Capicu Poetry & Cultural Showcase this coming week in Brooklyn, NY.
Capicu Poetry is an amazing project that was conceived by the infamous Papo Swiggity and I. In less than 2 years we have accomplished so much...but as we stand here looking at the two years ahead, we know we have so much more to do.
We hope that you will join us in this celebration, you can get all the details about the incredible line up we have for this night on our
Facebook event page.Aside from that I wanted to try something that two of my blogging friends do (and do well) which is offer my readers a lil taste of what I am checking out on the web and we will call it "Sunday Sofrito".
Click on the links...you'll never know what you will find...
Here is your
SUNDAY SOFRITO...
This week's Sofrito is dedicated to our friend Ralph Mercado who recently lost his battle with Cancer. Que descanse en paz hermano y gracias por todo lo que usted has hecho para nosotros aqui @ Sofrito For Your Soul.
Rich Villar put me on to some vintage spoken word by Felipe Luciano called Shades of Soul
Our thoughts are with the legendary Willie Colon as he recuperates from surgery.
That is it for now, I hope you make this week a great one and remember if you know about anything great happening within the Latino community, you can always email me at SofritoSubmissions@gmail.com
And let me know...
As I am,
