That's right this "masked" Mami has taken all the things she loves to do with her precious free time and rolled it up in digital format for other Mamis in the form of a blog so that can get it all in one place. This is extremely helpful for that busy super mommy on the go.

She is obviously web saavy Latina  who thought to create a space on the web where mom's all over the world can share shopping tips, product reviews, beauty secrets, cultural traditions and anything else that will make most of those precious moments they have to pamper themselves.

What I like most about this site is that it is even accessible via RSS for those mom's who do not have time to surf the web and need content delivered straight to their Blackberry or other smart phones.

So if you or someone you know is a busy mommy that can use some extra time in her respite bank, sent her the link to Mami's Time Out, so that she can get the "Latina Spice Of Life".

How does your culture celebrate Christmas?

This is when the website gets interactive... Well if you read my last post "Meet the Rican Chef" , you already know I am missing my family during this time of the year. Now I know that I keep making references to what my christmas would be like in Mama's house...but I found a great post that will help you understand the festive spirit of a traditional Puerto Rican Christmas celebration.

A Puerto Rican Christmas

Navidad is the best of Puerto Rican culture. Nowhere else is Christmas celebrated like in Borinquen. Navidad is the time of tradition, aguinaldos, décimas, y de ser jíbaro Puertorriqueño.

Christmas celebrations in Puerto Rico begin very early in December and do not stop on December 25th. The celebrations can continue into the middle of January if you consider the ''octavas and octavitas''. The big Christmas celebrations are; December 24 - Nochebuena; December 25 - Navidad; December 31 - Despedida de Año; and the biggest and most important of all for the children, of course, el Día de Reyes on January 6th.

What makes our Christmas different? First, most "Ricans" pretend to be jíbaros (or claim to be from el campo) during the holidays. We have a "pava" (traditional straw-hat) in storage just for Christmas.

Puerto Ricans are known for their unforgettable "parrandas or trullas navideñas". A parranda is when a small group of friends gathers together to "asaltar" or surprise another friend. It's the Puerto Rican version of Christmas caroling. Most parranderos play some sort of instrument, either guitarras, tamboriles, güiro maracas, or palitos. And they all sing. A parranda tends to be more secular than religious however many of the traditional aguinaldos (Puerto Rican Christmas songs) retain the holiday spirit.

Claire Jackson Shares Traditional Mexican Christmas Recipes

Those of you who read this blog or get my writings elsewhere on the web (via RSS) may have already guessed that I spend a lot of time sharing our cultura with people on twitter.

After my "Meet The Rican Chef" post, I was quickly replied to by Claire Jackson aka @LaBarceloneta  who shared a site that has some great tradional Mexican Christmas recipes especially one of my favorites Buñuelos de Navidad -Christmas Sweet Fritters…

The website is called inside Mexico and they have a section called "Desde La Cocina by May Herz", you can visit the site and see all her great recipes at Inside Mexico

You can also check out Claire's Blog "Claire de Lunacy"  a blog that guides non trangendered people better understand and communicate with their transgendered friends and family members.
